Actinic Keratosis – scripted patients only

Actinic keratosis (AK), sometimes called solar keratosis or senile keratosis,² is a pre-cancerous area of thick, scaly, or crusty skin.³ They are believed to form when skin gets damaged by UV radiation from the sun. Actinic keratoses often feels as dry or rough skin and commonly ranges between 2 and 6 millimeters, but can grow to be several centimeters in diameter.⁴

Your Doctor has discussed the best option to treat you and has prescribed GLENTRIZ^TM cream to treat your Actinic Keratosis.¹
GLENTRIZ^TM cream is simple to use.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Actinic Keratosis lesions (plural: Actinic Keratoses) are skin lesions that occur as a result of long-term exposure to Ultra Violet (UV) radiation from sun. Actinic Keratosis may appear as dry scaly patches or pink brown spots on sun-exposed skin.
They indicate that some sun damage has occured and are important to treat because, in a small number of cases they can lead to a some types of skin cancer.
Actinic Keratosis are very common in fair-skinned people and occur partly because of local effects that UV radiation can have on the imune system. Glentriz^TM cream works with your body’s immune response to help clear these lesions.

GLENTRIZ^TM should be applied prior to your normal bedtime.
GLENTRIZ^TM cream needs to remain on your skin for 8 (6 – 10) hours
During the 6 – 10 hours treatment period, showering or bathing should
be avoided.
Before applying GLENTRIZ^TM cream you should wash the treatment area
with mild soap and water.
Allow the area to dry thoroughly.
Open the sachet and apply the cream as a thin layer and rub it onto the
affected area until the cream is absorbed.
Do not cover the affected area with a dressing
After the 6 – 10 hours treatment period, GLENTRIZ^TM cream can be
washed off with mild soap and water.

HOW DOES GLENTRIZ WORK?

GLENTRIZ^TM is a cream that you apply to your superficial BCC. GLENTRIZ^TM works by stimulating your own immune system to recognise and destroy the skin cancer.
During treatment, your treated area of skin is likely to appear noticeably different from normal skin. This is a sign that GLENTRIZ^TM treatment is working.

SKIN REACTIONS:

You may experience local skin reactions at the site of treatment.
Your skin may

Feel itchy
Look flaky or scaly
Feel crusty
Develop scabs
Look and feel slightly swollen, or even hard

If you are feeling any discomfort from the treatment, you can take a break from treatment for a few days until the reactions subside, then resume the application of GLENTRIZ^TM cream as prescribed by your doctor. The rest periods will not interfere with your treatment plan.

Contact your Doctor if you experience any sign or symptom at the application site that restricts or prohibits your daily activity, or makes application of the cream difficult.

Please Note:
You need to minimise or avoid exposure to natural or artificial sunlight.

WHEN TO APPLY GLENTRIZ CREAM:

Your Doctor will explain how often to use GLENTRIZ^TM cream.

You will need to apply GLENTRIZ^TM 3 times per week (example: Monday, Wednesday and Friday) prior to normal sleeping hours, and leave on the skin for approximately 8 hours.
Continue GLENTRIZ^TM treatment for 4 weeks.
After a 4-week treatment-free period your Doctor will assess the treated area to determine clearance of your Actinic Keratosis.
If any Actinic Keratosis persists in the treatment area your Doctor will recommend that you apply GLENTRIZ^TM 3 times per week for an additional 4 weeks (for a maximum total treatment duration of 8 weeks).
Your Doctor may want to see you about 8 weeks after starting treatment.
